First Stop: Robert Moses and Fire Island Lighthouse

The Fire Island Lighthouse was built in 1858. Although this isn't the original it is not far away from the original at all. The original was built in 1826. For a long time, the first evidence of land for travelers crossing the Atlantic Ocean from Europe was the Fire Island Lighthouse. It's light can be seen from 20 miles away. The light house is right next to Robert Moses State Park. The light in the current lighthouse was lit for the first time on November 1, 1858. Robert Moses State Park is also a great place to spend the day. It is a beautiful beach that many can enjoy by taking a walk on the boardwalk, going fishing, surfing, swimming, visiting the lighthouse to take a tower tour, or just relaxing and enjoying yourself. And best of all these are things you can do and enjoy all year long.

Love the photos! Beautiful. Really makes me want to go there again, sadly it's been too long.
